The Society's White Burgundy 2012
This ended up being a very pleasant surprise. Wasn't quite sure what to expect with this one but it came out very nicely.
It wasn't too dry at all without being sweet.
Would certainly come back for another bottle of this one!

Tenuta Di Somaro
After not posting for quite some time, I thought it was time to start up again!
Tonight's delight is an Italian from 2011.
I have to say that from the first sip, this has been an enjoyable well rounded red. Some great flavours come through, although I suspect this would have been even better warmed slightly.
Overall, an enjoyable bottle of wine

L'esprit de Sauvignon 2011
So, a slightly late post rather than during enjoying the wine this time.
This was a lovely fruity crisp white that really should have been colder than it was when we drank it. We hadn't chilled it, so it was the temperature that it came off the rack in the corner - really must find the wine cooler!
I don't think this spoilt the wine though, it was still a pleasure to drink and perfectly acceptable I would think this would be a great wine for drinking really well chilled on a summers picnic

Finca el Cuento
This is tonight's wine, their Garnacha 2011 which is again a very fruity red with lots of silky flavours.
I feel we are drinking it a little cool tonight, I suspect it would benefit from being a bit warmer to really draw out the flavours. The sort of bottle that would benefit from sitting beside a log fire! It also has really benefited for being poured out, or certainly open to the air. We started drinking it as soon as the bottle was opened, but has improved over the time taken to enjoy the first glass, so I would suggest opening it and leaving it for 30 mins in front of an open fire to really enjoy this one.
All the same, a good thumbs up for us.

Today's delight is:
The Black Stump
An Australian Shiraz from 2012 so quite a young wine, but this continues to be one of laithwaites top sellers - and understandingly so.
The wine is fruity and enjoyable; quite morish in fact. I would certainly be tempted to get more of this one.
It isn't a heavy red and enjoys several flavours. We drank it, as we normally do, without food and it didn't need anything to go with it. We had nibbles of crisps, but I don't think that helped or hindered the experience.
I remember drinking from this vineyard before and enjoyed it last time - it doesn't disappoint!

Introductions
Ok, so this is going to be a fairly simple blog, but one where I get a reflection on the wines I consume.
Those of you know know me, will know I enjoy the odd glass - normally a bottle or two per week shared with my good wife; so we don't get through loads, but we enjoy what we do drink.
We currently get our wines from Laithwaites but have no other connection with them. We have enjoyed their wines for about 10 years now and the odd bottle that hasn't been good has been replaced or refunded - a level of service I cannot fault. By the odd bottle, I can only think of 2 and they were a pair from the same batch/vineyard, and we've had over 500 bottles from them, so not bad going in my book.
Anyway, I will give a brief summary of the wines we drink (when I remember) and I hope you find it useful
